Mark CarrasAbout Mark Carras

I am the founder of this site. Not to be confused with the head of programing development, Keith Wagner. I'm much more pretty than he is. I will also be doing most of the reviews unless someone shows pitty on me and takes some of these promos currently taking over my house.

I had heard such great things about this band, but I almost dismissed them on the first song. The problem is that they try to bite off more than they can chew at times. They go from gothic, to jazz, to really bad death metal in the first song. The blast beats are totally misplaced and throw off any flow the music might have had. It sounded like a really bad Fantômas tribute band. It is later on w... [View More]

What can you say about a Jorn cd? He is great at what he does and if you like it, you will enjoy this cd. The biggest complaint about Jorn is that he always sounds like a second rate Whitesnake. Well, I say that David Coverdale is getting pretty old and will probably not be able to put out great Whitesnake material for too much longer. I think it's great that Jorn is taking up the cause. I do howe... [View More]

Ok, can I get a ‘Hell, yeah!’ for this band getting the award for best album title of the year? Now for those that never got a chance to hear this band's first cd, get that one at the same time you buy this one. Both of them are just the kind of thing I like. You all should know by now that my 3 favorite bands in the world are Overkill, Motorhead, and Nevermore. Well Chrome Division is almost ... [View More]

Filter - Remixes for the Damned

First off I love this band. I also love a lot of remixes, but this just came off as a cash grab. It was down right painful to listen to. There is a reason that no label gave it a proper release. Try and find it on Amazon. It's not there. They only have the MP# files for download. Now when a major band like Filter can't get a proper release for something, that is saying something. Part of what brin... [View More]

How far behind are we on reviews? This re-release was sent about a year ago. What I am reviewing here is the re-release that was released slightly over a year ago. So how does "Ghost Opera: The Second Coming" stack up. I have to say I really like the lush flow of orchestral keyboards that they add. It sets the band apart from the majority of the modern metal bands with "squeaky clean" vocals. The... [View More]

Now that the band has been able to keep a stable line up for half a decade, you would expect them to have carved out their own distinct sound. Sad to say this is not the case yet. However, it does seem like they are leaning in that direction. Although I do like the more straight up rock style they are favoring with this cd, I have to say my favorite song is the only song that isn't in that style. ... [View More]

Bullet For My Valentine - Scream Aim Fire

Now first off I have to say that this band has improved a hundred fold since their first release. If their third release shows this much improvement they should become the best band in the history of music. When this cd first came out I had to beat people over the head just to give a song or two a listen. This band used to suck great big donkey balls! This is part of a "Deluxe Edition". From this ...
